Apply early for financial aid. Awards are given to students who have the greatest financial need and have submitted all required documentation to our office. Below are the priority dates for submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA).

To receive consideration for all available financial assistance and to determine your eligibility in a timely manner, submit all required forms to our office by the priority deadlines listed above. Applications completed after the priority deadlines will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis and dependent on available funding. If you do not apply by the priority deadline, we recommend submitting your financial aid application as soon as possible for aid consideration and to help ensure your financial aid is in place for your planned terms of enrollment.

The 2025-2026 Texas State Priority Deadline is February 15, 2025.

Federal Direct Loan borrowers must be enrolled at least half-time to receive a loan for the semester. Half-time enrollment is 6 or more credit hours for undergraduate students and 5 or more for graduate students. New Federal Direct Loan borrowers may need to complete Entrance Loan Counseling and/or a Master Promissory Note. Monitor your myUNT Task tile for To Do List updates and requirements.
